Handelsregister resolution
German legal entities, resolved against the public register
Industrial prospecting in the DACH region lives or dies on legal-entity precision. A GmbH & Co. KG on a website is rarely the same record as the entity in your CRM, and the wrong officer on a brief is a worse problem than no brief. demi resolves every German company it touches against the official Handelsregister — the same register German notaries and banks rely on — so every name, role, and address you see has a citable source.
How it works
Two queries carry most of the work. demi searches the Handelsregister by company name (fuzzy) when only a brand name or website is known, and by HRB number (exact) when an identifier already lives in your data. The lookup returns the current Geschäftsführer, Prokurist(en), Gesellschafter, registered address, HRB number, and legal form. demi also runs the lookup in reverse: given a person's name, demi returns every German company where they hold a registered role — useful for verifying that the LinkedIn profile your team is targeting is actually the same person who can sign on behalf of the company.
Why this matters for industrial SMEs
Mittelstand structures are messy. A single industrial group commonly carries an operating GmbH, a holding KG for the family ownership, and a Verwaltungs-GmbH that sits between them — and the person you want to reach often appears as Geschäftsführer of only one of the three. Without the Handelsregister link, generic prospecting tools either miss them entirely or attribute them to the wrong entity. With it, a brief that names Max Mustermann as Geschäftsführer is a citable claim, not a guess.
